I started riding horses at the age of 5, and unfortunately for my non-horsey parents, that was that!

My passion grew into a career working as a professional eventing groom for several riders, although that took a backseat temporarily while I got a degree in Film Studies in the UK. I dabbled in many careers while I travelled around the globe, and eventually returned to university to obtain my postgraduate teaching qualifications. I now have the best job working with children as an educator, helping them to stretch their potential and develop a thirst for learning and discovering new knowledge.

I live on a 5-acre farm in an adorably small, country town in Western Australia (only 15 minutes from the city and beach) with my partner, our young daughter,  and a menagerie of animals. I still coach at local pony clubs when I can, and I ride my horses each morning. I compete in the sport of eventing, and thoroughly enjoy the challenge of all phases (except perhaps show jumping…although maybe I would if my horses were less inclined to take rails 😛 ). Since horses are one of my passions, they inspire many of the stories I write. 

Travel and adventures are what I live for, whether it is an overseas trip exploring a new country or tent camping around the beautiful state I live in. As I started travelling around the world, I made it a point to learn stories of the regions I visited.

Reading and books have always been a mainstay in my life — I used to be reading in bed with a flashlight late at night growing up until my parents would check on me and take my light! I still have a decent collection of books even after moving overseas, and my kindle is never far away. I started collecting books for my daughter before she was born, and now her collection rivals mine!
